Helpful Stock Photography Websites

If you’re into webdesign, there’s a chance that you have used stock photography at one point or another. While I’m sure we would all love to take and use our own, sometimes that just isn’t possible. Thankfully, there are many websites out there today that offer all kinds of stock photos. If you are in need of stock photography at all, these websites are definitely worth checking out.

Creativity 103.com
Creativity103 has tons of very large sized photographs, most of which have good resolution. There’s a ton of different categories with an average of three pages each. Most of the categories are a little.. different; examples of some are: Alive, Concrete, and Surreal. However, they are all free and if nothing else, could provide some inspiration.

Morgue File.com
MorgueFile offers photos of decent (from what I have tested) resolution and size. It can be a little aggravating to navigate; being very specific with each selection, but there is always a search bar if you know what you are looking for and don’t need to browse. You also do not have to create an account to access the images.

PhotoVaco.com
Photovaco has a ton of photographs varying in size and resolution (although most of what I saw were very large with good resolution). There’s alot of ads around the website, so navigating may take a few minutes to get used to, but it’s well worth it. As well as photos, they also have vectors that are free for use. You do not need an account, either.

Stock Vault.net
StockVault has excellent photos when it comes to size and resolution. They offer a more casual and easier to navigate (in my opinion) browsing system. On top of photographs, they also offer 3D renders and textures. You do not need an account to access any of the images.

Sxc.hu
Stockxchng is among the most popular websites when it comes to stock photography. They offer a large selection, varying in different sizes and resolutions. Navigating is very simple and on top of photographs, they also have tutorials. You do not need to create an account.

Unprofound.com
Unprofound is unique when it comes to stock photography websites. Instead of browsing by category, you browse by colors. The images are submitted by users with accounts, so they vary in size and resolution. There is a search box, however, and if you are looking for a “flower” you can simply type that in. You do not need to create an account unless you wish to create a portfolio.

Woophy
Woophy has an excellent range of size and resolution in their photographs. Their photos come from amateur photographers (anyone can join, but you do not need an account to use the photos) around the world. There aren’t many categories, but there is still a way to browse through them if you don’t have anything already in mind.
